PARNS: El Imam family in St-Andrews
The El Imam family was sponsored by the TriHeart group in St. Andrews. The Sisters of Martha gave them a big house next door to the Catholic church.Though it took a while for this family from Damascus to become used to living in a small town, they have now made it their home.

Baby Zane is the first baby born in the Syrian refugee community in the Antigonish area. Since Zane's birth, a volunteer from ACALA, comes out to St. Andrews to tutor Madaniyah once a week so that she continue to improve her English.

Fahed Eliman works as a welder at the Mulgrave Machine Works, near Port Hawksbury in Cape Breton. It's a long commute, but he likes his job. He appreciates all the training that has been offered him.

Ahmed is 8 years old.

Mohammad is entering his last year of high school. He said that he put a lot of effort into learning English, spending hours after school watching movies in English, doing internet courses, etc. His English is very good. As the eldest son in the family, he feels a responsability for his younger siblings.

Mohammad likes his job at McDonalds, and the relationships, including the soccer games, with his co-workers.
